Weeping for Karen was originally written in 1995 in memory of my late aunt Karen Rippe, who passed away in 1986. The work, written for Clarinet in A and Piano, was originally performed at the DePaul Composer's Forum by Laurie Beard, Clarinet and Jim Janossy, Piano.

In 2008, I revisited the work and made a number of edits to create a more rounded work.
