I was born and raised in the small town of Beatrice, NE, moved to Chicago to study at DePaul University, and now reside in downtown Indianapolis.
Musical Education
I have studied viola with Madeleine Darmiento of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Rami Solomonow at DePaul University, and Susan Chan of the University of Indianapolis. In addition, I studied Violin and Viola Pedagogue with Mark Zinger at DePaul University.
My composition instruction was at DePaul University with Sheldon Atovsky, Janice Misurell-Mitchell, and Kurt Westerberg.
Other Education
In 2000, I began working with the AT&T Learning Services organization, undergoing extensive training on Adult Learning Styles both at AT&T and through graduate coursework at Penn State in adult education. Since 2006, I've spoken at conferences on blending instructor-led education with online coursework as well as using mobile devices in education.
